A career spent at the join between process and technology

Engineering

Started in IT engineering, building and integrating the systems that operations teams live inside. Learned early that a system is only as good as the process wrapped around it.

Internal consulting

Moved into internal consulting across group functions, working on problems that crossed finance, HR and customer operations. First exposure to the gap between the process on paper and the process on the floor.

Six Sigma

Trained and practised in Six Sigma. Took away the discipline of measuring before changing, and a healthy suspicion of any improvement claim without a baseline.

Outsourcing and ERP

Led process transition for outsourcing programmes and large ERP implementations. Watched documented processes fail on contact with real cases at scale, and learned to find the undocumented ones first.

RPA

Led robotic process automation programmes in banking operations. The bots that lasted were the ones built on how work actually flowed; the ones that broke were built on the procedure manual.

Process mining

Adopted process mining as the way to see the real process at case level. Built the practice of grounding every automation decision in event data rather than interviews alone.

AI agents and Pi Mapper

Founded Pi Mapper on the conviction that agents are the same story with higher stakes: they fail or succeed on the process intelligence and context beneath them, and the enterprises that invest in that layer will be the ones that get agents into production.

How Malika works

Hands on. On the floor with the operators, in the data with the analysts, in the room with the risk committee.

Pi Mapper is deliberately small. Malika leads every engagement personally, supported by a network of specialist practitioners in process mining, evaluation engineering and change. Clients get the founder, not a pyramid.

She writes regularly on what it takes to make AI work in regulated operations. The Insights section collects the current points of view.
